SALZBURG - HOHE TAUERN     KRIMMLER FALLS

The KRIMMLER waterfalls are part of the Nationalpark HOHE TAUERN located in the
provinces of
SALZBURG, TIROL and KÄRNTEN. Access to that natural beauty is from
MITTERSIL via. Hwy. 165, or westbound via AUTOBAHN A12, exit 39, then take Hwy.
169 to 165 over the
GERLOSSPASS.
The KRIMMLER falls have a total height of about 400 meters (1310 ft.). There is a lower
fall with about 150 m (490 ft.) , a middle fall with about 100m (330 ft.) and a upper fall
with about 150 m (490 ft.) The falls can be seen from the street (Hwy.165), and are only
minutes away from the carpark. There is an easy trail from the lower fall to the upper fall
with many viewing points. (one-way is approx 1½ hours). Prepare also for a lot of people,
especially in July and August, there could be some days with 10,000 tourists at one day !!
(Best time to visit is before 10 am)
