After long time of searching and spending much good money for bad programs I got this best for me  genealogical program. It is the program Ancestral file 5.0 for Windows 95/98s, NT 4, 2000 and XP. The program can be downloaded in several languages with a fitting manual. The program  was developed from the Mormons, internationally exepted experts in the ranges of genealogy. There is also the possibility of looking for the saints including actions of the Mormonen. However, you also can switch off this feature. Even if you aren't a Mormone, you can include almost every event in the life of a person. I have never before seen such versatile, operating and also free program for genealogy. Furthermore it is the simplest way to enter the data and detailed, open reports and print it out. The recorded data also can be used for the construction of a home page. The program can be downloaded free of charge. 
You can also search for your ancestors in an online database under www.familysearch.org.
