Betreff: TRC Trial Format for NR Constructed Tournies Datum: Tue, 27 Jul 1999 09:24:04 EDT Von: Rabbismall@AOL.COM Rückantwort: Netrunner Discussion List An: NETRUNNER-L@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM Greetings, all. As you're probably aware, the TRC (Top Runner's Conference, officially recognized NR fan club) has been bandying about concepts for altering the constructed Netrunner tournament format, to try to shake the scene up a bit prior to the release of Silent Impact (which we hope will be for Christmas this year, but don't sell any crossed fingers on it). Here are the findings of the special committee formed to discuss the possibilities: 5.0 Rules for Netrunner Revised Tournaments 5.1 General Rules for Revised Tournaments All rules for Netrunner Constructed Tournaments (section 2.0) apply unless otherwise stated in these rules. 5.2 Banned and Revised Cards This section replaces rules 2.1.4 (Banned and Restricted Cards). NOTE: The Banned and Revised Lists can be modified as deemed necessary by the Top Runners Conference Directors. Changes will go into effect one month after being announced. 5.2.1 The Banned List No cards from the Banned List are allowed in a tournament deck. Violation of this rule will result in the player being subject to the appropriate provisions of the DCI penalty guide. The Banned List for Netrunner Revised Tournaments Enterprise, Inc., Shields Tycho Extension 5.2.2 The Revised List Cards on the Revised List will be played with the clarification given for the card. Violation of this rule will result in the player being subject to the appropriate provisions of the DCI penalty guide. The Revised List for Netrunner Revised Tournaments Precision Bribery - Add the text "This trashing can not be prevented." to the end of the card's text. Code Viral Cache - Add the text "This trashing can not be prevented." to the end of the card's text. Scaldan - Add the key word "Unique". Viral Pipeline - Add the key word "Unique". There it is. As you see, there are two banned cards, two cards which currently allow the Corp to trash them during its own turn whose trashing *in this manner* now cannot be prevented, and two cards that are "restricted" (i.e. made unique). What we'd love to see is someone or many someones organize constructed tournaments between now and December that use this format. If you do decide to do this, we don't have much in the way of carrots to offer you but perhaps Jen of Arc might be persuaded to scrounge up some small token of our appreciation? And I myself will send a box of NR booster packs (postage paid) to the first person to organize, run, and report back on a constructed tournament of 6 or more people using this format! So there you have it. Give it a try. Perhaps have a two-day event with unlimited constructed (the current official format) on one day and Limited Constructed the next, and see what the differences are. Or combine Limited with a sealed event. Have one by itself! The possibilities are endless! Thanks for listening, and please do let us all know how it works out for you.
