Using MicroPress' PA-Math fonts with PSNFSS 9.2

The commercial PA-Math fonts by MicroPress Inc. do -- unfortunately -- not make use of real Palatino smallcaps and oldstyle figures, which are provided by the latest release 9.2 of PSNFSS, i.e., the standard PostScript font support for LaTeX.

To fix this deficiency, I have put together an appropriate macro package and a set of virtual fonts and font metrics. Download pa-contrib.zipneu 2004-09-08, unpack it in an appropriate texmf directory tree of your TeX system (and update the file name database, if applicable). After unpacking of the archive, see the file texmf/doc/latex/pa-contrib/pamathx.txt for how to use the PA-Math fonts together with the free smallcaps and oldstyle figures.

Using this material requires PSNFSS version 9.2, as of 2004-09-15, which is available from the CTAN directory macros/latex/required/psnfss/. Notice however, that updating the basic PostScript font support of a LaTeX system should usually be left to experts, and that the installation instructions are not aimed at end users.

The present material was previously part of my "Palatino SC/OsF font pack", which cannot be used any more together with PSNFSS 9.2.
